Nolan Murphy

Nolan Murphy is a Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, best known for his work as a bandleader and musical director, working with groups and organisations across Canada. Originally hailing from rural Ontario, Nolan has quickly become an established and in demand voice in the community as both a brass and rhythm player, playing trombone and tuba with orchestras, touring acts, and theatre shows, and playing drums and percussion with jazz and pop groups across Ontario. In recent years he has performed at Massey Hall, and the Canadian Juno Awards, and worked with artists such as Anderson .Paak, BBno$, Cindy Cashdollar, Prakash John, The Heavyweights Brass Band, Herbie Hancock, Sugarmill Slim, Mrs. Henry (AKA Chest Fever), Doc Stevenson, and Wing Night, just to name a few. He keeps an active schedule as a bandleader with his other groups, like the Eighth Street Orchestra, Earsgang, Beaglemania, The Nolan Murphy Orchestra, and more. Nolan is a current member of the Heavyweights Brass Band, Big Smoke Brass, EBM, and Starship Theseus, among others. Nolan performs regularly across Canada with all manner of musical acts as a side man and featured soloist.

Teddy Zamor

Teddy Zamor is a Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist, vocalist , arranger and teacher. Originally from Gatineau QC, Teddy moved to Toronto in 2013 to attend the University of Toronto’s classical performance program and since then has established himself as one of the loudest and most iconic voices in the city. Not one to keep himself in a lane, Teddy branched out from classical music into Hip hop/ R&B and has become a force in those worlds working as the musical director for Bangerz Brass (2018-2022). Teddys work with Bangerz brass was recognized in 2019 when the band was featured on the cover of Toronto Magazine’s 2019 spring issue. He has performed around Canada in venues like the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, The Danforth Music Hall in Toronto and the Palais Montcalm in Quebec City and has been able to work with artists like The Canadian Brass, Carlos Morgan, Shawn Mendez & Maestro Fresh Wes.

Rudy Ray

Disciple of the legendary Hugh Masekela, Rudy Ray Kwaku is a renowned Toronto-based musician and actor, who blends his Ghanaian royal heritage with Canadian identity. With accolades in Juno-winning Hip Hop albums and roles in Netflix's "Madam CJ Walker" among other film and television productions over the past 4 years, CBC hails him as an emerging artist. A University of Toronto graduate and a Wu-Tang Clan member, Rudy's dual background as a neuroscientist informs his music, delving into the brain, mental health, and music's cognitive effects. His reprising role in Ahmed Moneka's "Spaciousness" showcases his versatility in theatre and storytelling. Rudy transcends genres, infusing diverse art with unprecedented sonic vigor, celebrating Black American and African rhythms. Energize your senses with Rudy Ray's unmatched auditory journey.

Kyle Windjack

Meet Kyle Windjack; based in Toronto, Vancouver and LA, he is known for his work as multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer, with a versatile musical range spanning jazz, folk, and R&B. When he's not playing with SHOUT!, Kyle spends much of his time on the road, living in a 32ft custom solar-powered mobile recording studio, working with artists across the West Coast. His music reflects the inspiration he finds in the ever-changing landscapes of his nomadic lifestyle.

Patrick Smith

Patrick Smith is a freelance musician and teacher based in Toronto (originally from Ottawa). He has studied with Mike Murley, Kelly Jefferson and the acclaimed American saxophonist Mark Shim. He has established himself as a gifted and in demand saxophonist in the Canadian music scene. In recent years he has extensively toured Canada, the US and Europe with Legends of Motown (featuring Michael Dunston and Gary Beals), My Son The Hurricane, Chelsea Mcbride’s Socialist Night School, and Forever Seger. He has performed alongside such jazz legends as Juini Booth (former bassist of McCoy Tyner, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers) and Terry Clarke (former drummer of Jim Hall, Oscar Peterson). Patrick keeps an active freelance schedule in Toronto appearing with bands like Dee Dee and the Dirty Martinis, Eighth Street Orchestra, Dan Pitt Quintet, Erez Zobary, Queen Pepper, Kazdoura, SHOUT! the band and the Heavyweights Brass Band. An active bandleader, in 2018 Patrick released his debut album of original music entitled “Still Searching” with his jazz quintet. He currently leads the Patrick Smith Quintet and the Patrick Smith Standards Band which regularly perform at Toronto venues such as The Rex Hotel Jazz and Blues Bar, The Emmet Ray and other GTA venues. In fall 2017 Patrick spent 6 weeks in Copenhagen, Denmark performing with the Danish drummer and cymbal craftsman Lasse Funch, culminating in a performance at the renowned Christiania Jazzklub.

Naomi Higgins

Naomi Higgins (she/they) is a Toronto-based woodwind player and music teacher. They graduated with honours from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance in 2017. Naomi has performed with many bands such as Groove Marmalade, The Human Rights, The Toronto Jazz Orchestra, and now SHOUT! the Band. She plays for weddings, cocktail parties, shows, musicals, festivals, and more. They have played venues all around Ontario, toured both Canada and the US, and have even performed around the world on cruise ships. Naomi also teaches private music lessons online and in-person from her studio in Toronto. They have students of all ages and experience levels on saxophone, flute, clarinet, ukulele, and piano.

Daniel Walsh

Daniel Walsh (he/him) is a multi-instrumentalist of over 20 years with over a decade of professional playing and teaching experience. He is known around Toronto as a guitarist, trombonist, vocalist, bassist, and sousaphonist. He continues to work as a sideman for several acts including SHOUT! the Band who recently featured Anderson. Paak, Bourbon and Brass, Beverley Street Group, Saul Torres and bandleader his own projects, Starship Theseus, HNNYWLL and Dive Bomb to name a few. Daniel's experience as a musician extends to playing jazz, funk, RnB, pop, free music, salsa, brass band, folk music, classical, jungle/drum and bass, punk, metal, house, ska and more. He works regularly as an arranger and composer for many of the live acts he performs with.

Nick Marshall

A Toronto born, now Kobe/Osaka-based trombonist, Nick Marshall has performed in countless countries as a sideman and featured artist, often leading his own groups such as ART the Band, and the Nick Marshall Quintet. A veteran of the Toronto brass band music scene, Nick's first job out of high school was busking four days a week as founding member of Toronto street band Hogtown Sound. This quickly evolved into frequent recording sessions, joining hip-hop group Bangerz Brass, as well as working with members of Lemon Bucket Orchestra on a regular basis. In Japan, Nick has most recently worked with artists such as SOA, Eric Merienthal, Miki Hirose, and The Shota Lee Big Band, all while continuing to fly in to perform with SHOUT!

Kae Murphy

Kae Murphy is an award winning jazz trumpet player and tubist who has performed around the world with artists ranging from jazz groups like the Toronto Jazz Orchestra, to indie and rock groups like Whitney. Hailing from Owen Sound, Ontario, Kae has performed live in festivals in countless countries, most recently performing at Coachella and the Newport Jazz Festival. They were awarded the 2023 Emerging Jazz Artists award by the Toronto Arts Foundation, and are featured on a Grammy nominated single by BadBadNotGood.

Geoffrey Alan Bruce

Geoff is a Toronto-born drum and percussion virtuoso - having studied under percussionists like Luis Orbegoso and Rosendo “Chendy” Leon, he has spent his life studying drums and percussion from all around the world with a focus on multi-percussion and musical theatre. Geoffrey has performed at festivals across North America, most recently performing at the Toronto Jazz Festival! Geoff has shared the stage with classic jazz artists such as Doc Severinsen and Peter Appleyard, and now brings his unique flavour and takes on traditional drumming from around the world straight to you with SHOUT! the band!

Patricio Llovet

Patricio Llovet is an entertainment manager/administrator, drummer, and arranger, born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he started his formation in music, focusing in orchestral percussion, drum kit, and jazz harmony and composition. He moved to Canada in 2014 to complete his studies in music at Humber College, where he obtained his Bachelor of Music with Honours, majoring on percussion, with a focus on music writing. Patricio is currently based in the GTA and actively carries out a broad variety of professional arts activities within the music industry.

Jason Martin

Jason Martin is a professional drummer, producer, and bandleader based in Toronto. He currently holds the drum chair for international touring and recording act The Free Label. Jason also heads Toronto based neo-soul band MINDTHEGAP, Toronto based funk jam trio Aperitivo, as well as Toronto based jazz quartet Digestif. He’s opened for acclaimed acts such as; T-Pain, MonoNeon, Aqua, Lupe Fiasco, and Incognito among other notable artists. Jason’s extensive live performance resume includes events such as; TedXToronto, The Calgary Stampede, Luxembourg’s Blues’n’Jazz Rallye, Virgin Voyages Cruises, NXNE, TD Toronto Jazz Festival, and many more.

ABOUT THE BAND

Originally formed on the streets in Toronto, SHOUT! the band began as a group of college friends looking to spend their free time making music with each other, and sharing it with the world. These early sidewalk performances with a handful of horns playing on Queen street quickly exploded as the band grew in both size and popularity, bringing a full 12 piece band to the streets, taking the city by storm and drawing crowds so fierce that major city intersections came to a standstill.

As their reputation continued to grow, the band transitioned from street corners to stages and festivals, playing at venues across Canada, bringing their infectious performances to wider audiences leaving fans captivated in their wake. SHOUT! quickly became notorious for their iconic sound and energy, garnering the attention of major players within the music industry, leading to collaborations and performances with artists such as Anderson .Paak, and Maurice Brown.

SHOUT!’s tight-knit family features some of Canada’s top musicians and artists, who have worked with artists such as J-Cole, Shawn Mendes, Olivia Rodrigo, Colin Linden, Tom “Bones'' Malone (leader of the Blues Brother’s Band), “Blue Lou'' Marini, the Wu-Tang Clan, Freddie Gibbs, and more. The SHOUT! team has also performed on iconic stages and at major festivals across the globe, including shows at History, the Budweiser Stage, and Massey Hall in Toronto, and festivals like the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Coachella and the Newport Jazz Festival.

Despite recent complications during 2020 when the band had initially begun their debut album, SHOUT! Is currently working on a live and studio album to save fans from their bootleg recordings. SHOUT! Continues to perform live all across North America. Pushing boundaries with their earth-shattering walls of sound and energetic, infectious performances. SHOUT! is truly a testament to what can be achieved when you follow your dreams and focus on what you love, and sharing that love with the world.
